Import from File

This page allows you to import users from a comma separated format file. This allows you to automatically import the list of users, and groups from any source that can export to csv format, and automatically synchronize the lists. Just re-import to synchronize the list, or use the scheduling to have it done automatically.

Import Users...
Press the Import button to begin importing new users from a CSV file. The file should not have any header row and should consist of a line for each user of the following format: <username>,<password>,<emailaddress>,<display name>,<alias1>,<alias2>, ... <aliasN> e.g. user1,password1,user1@example.com,User One,alias1@example.com,alias*@example.com

Use this setting to enable automatic scheduled synchronization of the users from a CSV file.

You can specify how often to attempt to import the csv file. If the file is not present the import will be retried after 1 minute. If the file is still being written when the import is attempted, the import will be retried once the file has stopped changing size.

Server csv file path
In order to schedule import from a CSV file you must specify the SERVER path to the file. The file must be accessible to the server software, and the path specified should be an absolute path to the csv file.

Deduplicate by email address
$productname$ can automatically deduplicate your users list by email address - this includes all email address alias for each user, and ensures that only one user in $productname$ is associated with each email address.

Skip if no email
Depending on your search filter and other factors you may sometimes find users with no associated email address in $productname$ - use this setting to ensure these users are not imported.

Remove Users
When users are removed or disabled in Active Directory, or no longer present in an imported csv file, you can have them removed automatically from $productname$ next time you perform and Import.
